PLANNING.....yes
There is a famous Quote about planning which is..
"Failing to plan is planning to fail"
Students should first of all plan their studies well before the examination. Students are required to know the examination dates or months and accordingly start the studies. Planning requires the self assessment, identification of weak areas and topics, syllabus coverage, marking criteria, time table which might be daily, weekly or monthly.
Other things which students should give particular attention to is the planning of taking classes for different subjects, if they want to take. Identification of relevant teachers with good teaching reputation help students in having good exams preparation.
What books are to be referred for each subject is also one of the important element of planning phase.
Students should know about the notes and referral materials which are easily available and of good content from examination point of view.
WHAT NEXT AFTER PLANNING?
IMPLEMENTATION OF STUDY PLAN.....yes
Once the plan of studies is developed comprehensively for each subject, students are then required to stick to that plan.
Consistent studies habit make students perform well in the exams.
Remember that practice makes you perfect and you have to be honest in your studies preparation.
Study plan which was initially set for the studies, might be changed later according to the situations faced by the students, during the journey of studies but care should be taken not to compromise the objective of the study plan..... Which is to cover the whole syllabus with good revision and pass the exams with good grades...
HOW TO REVISE THE SUBJECTS, TOPICS AND CHAPTERS?
During the studies phase students are required to study according to the syllabus but they are required to mark the important topics, chapters and material for revision purposes.
Students can underline, highlight or put mark on the content which they consider relevant and important from revision point of view. This is to be performed for all the subjects as you have to pass all the subjects..
Students can also use pass cards or revision summaries for revision purposes.
It is a good habit of not reading any thing new during the revision phase because this will distract your attention from revision and you might loose confidence on your preparation.
HOW MANY REVISIONS SHOULD BE PLANNED AND PERFORMED?
It depends on the level of preparation and subjects.
Weak or difficult subjects or topics require more revision as compared to those which are easier ones.
But as a best practice, students should aim for at least 2 revision for each subject just before the examination.
WHAT TO REVISE?
Revision of important and key topics or chapters is must before the exams or you can say that more revision is required for difficult and important topics before the examination.
WHAT AFTER REVISION?
Students if find easy, should plan for the MOCK examinations after the revision sessions. Last 2 or 3 attempts papers should be taken and solved n exams scenario. The MOCK should be given for all the subjects or at least for the difficult subjects.
WHAT AFTER MOCK?
After the MOCK examination, students should get the copies or solutions checked strictly and numbers given. It will be a good way to test whether you pass or fail in the MOCK tests.
You can have good idea of numbers which you can score in the real examinations.
During the checking of MOCK tests, you have to write the mistakes you made in the MOCK tests. Those mistakes should be summarized on a separate paper for future reference.
WHAT IF YOU SCORED BAD IN MOCK?
The objective of MOCK tests is to make yo aware of your weak areas and mistakes you made. If you feel that you lost whole topic or concept during MOCK test then you can go back to your book or notes and revise the same. This will help you keep remembering the mistakes made and not to repeat in actual examination.
